This week I have some knitting to share. I've finished my first shawl, using the Ashton Shawlette pattern by Dee O'Keefe available from Ravelry here. It was my biggest project so far, but it went well. Here is the shawl before blocking:
Not very exciting! But once the shawl is blocked, the lace opens up and looks beautiful:
And a few detail shots:
I'm sure with some more careful blocking I could have gotten the points on the edge more even, but I don't think it's a big deal. I did add an additional repeat to the base of the shawl to make it a little bigger and I like the size it ended up.
This will be a Christmas present for one of my nieces or my sister. I have two more shawls to make, then I'll decide who will get which one.
Thanks for looking!
Nancy
Wow! I love how the pattern is revealed after blocking!--Terry
ReplyDeleteIsn't that cool? I'm really enjoying knitting lace!
DeleteAwesome Nancy! Love your shawl! I'm working on a cabled sweater vest for my husband now from yarn we purchased on our Iceland trip. Barb
ReplyDeleteCool! I'd love to see it when it's done! I don't have the confidence yet to make something that would actually have to fit someone.
